There are more people in the world with mobile phones, than people with access to a toilet. In Dubai, we all live in a world of luxury where we never have to even think about issues like where we would go to the toilet. Imagine if we lived in a world without any toilets?
For the third year running, the Aqua Initiative held the World Water Day Carnival on Thursday 1st of March 2012. The carnival was at Dubai International Academy and ran from 14:30 – 19:00. All money went to alleviate world water poverty. This family focused event had bouncy castles, slides, gladiator arena, climbing mountain, bungee trampoline, Subway, Wild Wadi Raffle, Fairground Games, Desert Chill Ice Cream and a lot more.
World Water Day saw the Aqua Initiative take to the stage for the students at Dubai International Academy in the hope of trying to educate them about the crisis and the issues which the world faces regarding water and sanitation. This video features the speeches and events of the presentation as well as a demonstration of the use of the LifeStraw®.
As part of World Water Day 2012, the Aqua Initiative organized a major presentation for the entire secondary school at Dubai International Academy. This presentation was vital in terms of achieving the goals of raising awareness for the cause. This presentation featured speeches from DIA’s Water for Life Club as well as the President of the Aqua Initiative, Edward Pollock. The was also a demonstration of the LifeBottle and the LifeStraw as well as a video.
